Yahoo! Messenger is a popular instant messaging client and protocol provided by Yahoo!. It can be used with a generic Yahoo! ID which also allows access to other Yahoo! services, such as Yahoo! Mail, where users can be automatically notified when they receive new email. Yahoo! offers PC to PC telephone, file transfers, webcam hosting, text messaging service, and chat rooms in various categories.
The next version of Yahoo! Messenger, build especially for Windows Vista, will have a bunch of new features, the most interesting one being the tabbed IM windows. Until this version will be released you can still enjoy tabbed IM windows. Here is what you have to do:
1. Click Start -> Run...
2. Type regedit, hit Enter.
3. Look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Yahoo -> pager.
4. In the right pane right click on a blank spot, select New -> DWORD Value, name it Tabbed IM. Double click on it and give it the value of 1.
5. Close the Registry Editor and the next IM window you open will be in a tab.
6. Even though this tweak is provided by Yahoo! it still has bugs. You can use this program to fix some of them.
