How To Avoid Typos In Firefox

We all hate typos, but we still commit them unknowingly. Things get even worse when you hit the return key in Firefox address bar and then realize that you committed a typo.
URL Fixer is a super handy Firefox extension which does the dirty job of fixing these typos for you. It can fix most common typos in both prefix (http:, https:) and suffix part (com, org, net, info.. etc) of a domain name.

Here is how you can take advantage of what this extension has to offer:

1. Open Firefox and go to this address.
2. On the page click the Install now button. This will install the extension.
3. This extension does not have an options panel, instead simply click in the address bar. In the context menu select Confirm corrections to allow you to approve the correction or uncheck (default) this option to allow the extension to auto-correct.

URL Fixer is about 10K and it's compatible with Firefox 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and be forced to work with 3.0 (via about:config, change extensions.checkCompatibility to false). It also have been nominated extension for a standard feature in Firefox 3.
