Mozilla Firefox is a cross-platform browser, providing support for various versions of Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Firefox's source code is freely available under the terms of the Mozilla tri-license as free and open source software.
There is an easy configuration change in Firefox that limits animated images. By limit I mean you can stop or just run animated images once. Here is how:
1. Open Firefox and type in the address bar about:config.
2. Now in the Filter field enter image.animation_mode.
3. By default this option is set to normal. Double click this entry and change its value to none to stop all animated images, or once to let images run only one time the animation.
4. At any time you can go to the default behavior by modifying the value of this setting to normal.
