If you are using Microsoft Outlook as you e-mail client, you will be glad to know the program has a hidden feature which can recover deleted items, even though you have deleted them from the Deleted Items folder. To take advantage of the feature you will have to enable it, by an implementation of a Windows XP registry tweak. Here is how:
1. First you will have to make sure Outlook is closed.
2. Now click Start -> Run... and type regedit followed by the Enter key.
3. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Exchange -> Client -> Options.
4. In the right pane right click on a blank spot and select New -> DWORD Value.
5. Give it the name DumpsterAlwaysOn.
6. Set the DWORD value to 1 by double clicking on it.
7. Open Outlook.
8. In the Tools menu you will notice that the option Recover Deleted Items appeared for every Outlook Folder.
